Crochet slippers

This is not my favourite time of year. It is grey and cold and the only sensible response seems to be to stay inside drinking tea and making woolly things. Recently for me, this has meant slippers. These are a lovely little project for people who are relatively new to crochet. I based mine on a popular pattern from another blog: https://thelittlehousebythesea.wordpress.com/2009/09/03/free-pattern-for-mary-jane-slippers/

I just skipped the strap and added some small flower decorations. They are really satisfying to make as they are all in one piece. My first pair were made in chunky wool with a 6mm hook and came out as a UK size 6-7. I soon figured out how to adjust the sizing by making them narrower/shorter and using different yarns (although it helps to have the actual feet you are making for around). Already have “orders” from family and friends. Quite right too as they are lovely.
